As part of a dedicated commitment to the three pillars of sustainability, The Sustainable City has developed a variety of initiatives. Each initiative works to combine the social, economic and environmental pillars to give residents, and the wider community, an experience of sustainability.
My Hive
Launched on May 20th 2018 to celebrate the UN’s World Bee Day, MyHive gives people the opportunity to discover the joys of beekeeping. By adopting a beehive through the MyHive initiative, people can experience beekeeping whilst making a positive impact on declining bee populations.
SEEd
Sustainable and Environmental Education based in the heart of The Sustainable City. From school visits to teacher training, SEEd aims to share the knowledge behind The Sustainable City and promote an understanding of environmental sustainability through education.
TSC Music Center
Culture is at the heart of social sustainability and The Sustainable City. Music is an incredible medium which provides the opportunity to boost happiness and strengthen community ties. The Sustainable City (TSC) Music Center provides music lessons to all ages and levels for a variety of instruments.
Urban Farming Club
Alongside the community gardening plots in The Sustainable City, residents can get involved with the Urban Farming Club. The Urban Farming Club is a space where farmers can come together to discuss and enjoy the produce of their gardens.
